Jjolmyeon 쫄면, a type of Korean noodles that have a very chewy texture and are made from wheat flour and starch or a cold and spicy dish made with the noodles and vegetables. The spicy and hot sauce is a combination of gochujang (chili pepper paste), vinegar, sugar, and minced garlic. Topped with egg and sliced beef. Cold dish. Amazing. One of my top favorites. Must-EAT. WOW.
To Hyang 토향 3815 Geary Boulevard (between 2nd and 3rd Avenues) San Francisco CA 94118 Phone: 415.668.8186. An Anthony Bourdain’s featured restaurant.

Pork patty with salted fish. Quintessential Cantonese soul food. Two versions. Steamed and pan-fried. 鹹魚蒸肉餅 (haam-jyu-jing-juk-beng) and 鹹魚煎肉餅 (haam-jyu-jeen-juk-beng).

Perfect with a bowl of plain white rice. Hits the spot all the time.

Ass 驢. Best meat ever. “天有龍地有驢 Heaven has dragon, and earth ass (donkey).” An ancient Chinese saying. Very true. Delicious. Especially the skin. The upper part of the throat is amazing.

Transported live from Shandong 山東. Eaten at 仁和居驢肉城 in Zhongshan City 中山市, Guangdong Province 廣東省, China.
