New Hidden Gem: Bún Mắm Sóc Trăng
Named after their specialty, this 2-year old place creates the tastiest bún mắm (also known as bún nước lèo ). A rare treat of Sóc Trăng in southwest Vietnam…where Vietnamese, Khmer (Cambodian), and Hoa (Chinese) live friendly together.
Intense and savory fermented fish broth with noodles, steamed pork, prawns, fish, roast pork. Comes with very fresh sliced banana blossoms, Vietnamese coriander rau răm, mint, bean sprouts, chives, and a wedge of lime. And house-made hot chili sauce that pairs well with the dish. Complex with a long lingering finish. Stimulating. Fragrant. Addictive. Ultimate umami experience. Must-EAT
Caveat: Just like the durian fruit, you either love it or hate it. I happen to love it! What a blessing.
